Corstrata’s Board-Certified Wound Care Specialists to Provide eConsults to Clinicians via AristaMD’s Telehealth Platform

SAN DIEGO, California and SAVANNAH, Georgia – May 15, 2019 – AristaMD, an innovative telehealth platform that delivers timely, documented access to specialist insight through eConsults, partners with Corstrata, a provider of digital healthcare IT solutions and services for wound prevention and care management, to add board-certified wound and ostomy specialists to its already extensive specialist panel. Due to high client demand, AristaMD’s initiative to partner with Corstrata will ensure its eConsult platform continues to offer the most comprehensive access to specialty care. AristaMD’s wound and ostomy panel is set to launch on May 14, 2019.

“It is estimated that there are approximately 6.5 million patients in the United States that currently receive wound treatment, costing around $25 billion annually in acute and chronic wound care management,” said Brooke LeVasseur, CEO of AristaMD. “By offering wound care specialty access through AristaMD’s platform, we aim to improve patient quality of life, time efficiency, overall patient care and reduce patient expenses that would come from a visit to a costly wound care clinic.”

AristaMD-enrolled clinicians can request a consultation by submitting a general consultative service query. If the platform identifies a query related to a wound or ostomy and the physician is able to provide an image the consultation request is assigned and added to the queue of scheduled wound/ostomy panelists. The assigned panelist will then determine if the patient can be managed at the PCP level or needs to schedule a face-to-face specialist visit.

“With a growing wound population and the highly specialized nature of wound care, access to board-certified wound and ostomy specialists that can accurately identify wound types and associated staging and recommend the most appropriate wound treatment and dressings are critical to ensuring the best possible outcomes for wound patients,” added Katherine Piette, CEO and Co-Founder, Corstrata. “We are thrilled to partner with AristaMD to enable their clinicians with access to our experienced team of wound and ostomy experts to provide evidence-based, best practice wound treatments to improve patient outcomes.

AristaMD enables primary care providers and patients to collaborate virtually with a national panel of top specialists. By expanding its panel of specialists, AristaMD can provide excellent, rapid wound care consults for providers and their patients, who usually wait weeks to months to see a wound or ostomy specialist.
